KAURI GUM MONTHLY REPORT.
Prices for most grades of. gum have been well maintained throughout the month, although latterly, there has been .less disposition shown on the part of buyers to pay the prices required by holders. On the other hand, few sales were made at any concession. At present buyers can afford to wait, as no vessel is just now on the berth for New Yoi'k, but as one is now on the coast this state of affairs should soon alter. In consequence of this lack of shipping facility the tone of '. the market does not seem so good as it ! was at last report although there is no quotable change in prices. The exports for the month are: To San Francisco, per Moana, 1 ton; to New York, per Nellie Brett, 568 tons; Westralia, 14 tons. To London: Per Eling-amite, 10 tons; Mararoa, 34 tons; Kaikoura, 100 tons; Westralia, 35 tons; Star of England, 100 tons; Waihora, G7 tons; Ruapehu, 50 tons; Mamari, 158 tons. Total exports, 1,137 tons. Supplies from mail to mail, 757 tons. Prices remain as under: — Peer ordinary £35 to £42 Fair ordinary £45 to £50 Good ordinary £52 to £G2 Superior ordinary £70 to £80 East Coast (good) £72 to £74 Receraped £110 up
