NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWN

MELBOURNE, January 26.
Lord Brassey had a narrow escape from drowning. After witnessing the regatta lie was landing at the wharf, when a heavy sea displaced the seat, and the Governor was thrown into the water. He was swimming about for several minutes before he was hauled aboard a boat, much bruised and considerably exhausted.
