BRITISH FORCE DESPATCHED,

LONDON, January 20,

News has been received that for many months certain districts of Romeo have been terrorised by a band of piratical desperadoes, led by a notorious renegade named Mat Salleli. The band made frequent descents upon the British settlements and posts, committing wholesale ravages and murders, and eventually capturing Port Eawn in North Borneo! A British force was despatched, which recaptured the fort, Salleli succeeding in escaping.
