The police want an owner for three pocket books and a brown coloured blanket, alleged to be stolen from a shop door.

To-day Detective Miller arrested a man named Chas. Gallagher on a charge that on the 22nd January, at Drunken Bay, ho did steal a keyless geneva watch of the value of £2 10s, the property of Frank Davis. Mr Neville Newcomb will offerafc auction on Thursday, 3rd prox., valuable building sites at Epsom.
Mr D. Craig, General Manager of the New Zealand Insurance Company, left for the Sontli by thes.s. Mahinapuathis afternoon. Other passengers l>y that steamer were Canon Calder, of Ponsonby, and Mr W. C. Kensington who are on their way to Cliristchurcii, to attend the forthcoming Anglican Synod in that city, and Mr Hume, of tlie Bank of New Zealand branch at Hamilton.
