THE PREMIER

WESTPORT, Tuesday,

The Premier arrived at Westport on Sunday from Greymouth. On Monday he received deputations, and in the afternoon proceeded to Denniston, when he was entertained at a banquet by the Denniston Miners' Union. In the evening he was entertained at a banquet in Westport, about 250 ladies and gentlemen' being present. To-day he went to Seddonville and received a deputation on local requirements. To-night he delivered a political address in the Victoria Theatre, about 800 being present. The speech was mainly a repetition of that delivered in other coast towns. At the conclusion of his address a vote of thanks and confidence in the Government was carried unanimously. Mr Seddon leaves for Reefton in the morning by coach.
