A.R.C. SUMMER MEETING.

This was what is termed an "off morning," consequently little of interest was done on the Ellerslie training tracks this morning. The Cup candidates. St. Paul, Nestor, Panoply, Antares, Coronet and Daystar were all exercised, besides a. number of others. ''.

A private letter received in town statethat Waiuku arrives here on Wednesday. He is to be submitted for sale after the conclusion of the Summer Meeting, the sale taking place at Wellington Park. The Press Association agent at Wellington wires to-day: — Multiform, Gold Medallist, Conqueror and Altair are here. They will be shipped for Auckland to-day. For the Cup, St. Paul has shortened to 5 to 2. A wager of 300 to 24' has been laid against Nestor for the Cup. In doubles the most important line to-day was the writing of 500 to 10 against Panoply and Muscatel.

In referring to the ■ departure of Mr Stead's team to compete at the A.X.C. Summer Meeting the Christchurch "Referee " says :—Multiform, Gold MedallisV Conqueror, and Altair leave .their heat_*; quarters, going from Lyttelton via the East Coast. The quartette will be the most formidable ever sent from this part of New Zealand. Such a brace of crack three-year-olds and two sucli fine two-year-olds have never been turned out of one racingl establishment. They are doing, well,-too,' from all accounts, and are sure to bring back a share of' the good things the Northerners have on then* attractive bill-: of-fare. The cut heel that Multiform srot in the C. J.C. Derby occasioned Mason some trouble, but is now nearly all right. ■ . --*

Privileges in connection with the forthcoming summer meeting of the Commander Jockey Club on Boxing Day were sold onSaturday by Mr F. D. Yonge, auctioneer, when the following prices were realised:— Booth, £20, J. Rolleston; refreshment booth, £3, McGregor and Montgomery.; cards, £2, Mr Hollow. The gates passed in at £20.
