PAEROA tins,day. McKay, a blacksmith working for-the Woodstock Company at Karangahake met with a nasty accident on Saturday! He was cutting a bar of hot steel, when a piece flew off and struck him in one eye, injuring the pupil so severely that Dr. Buckby, after examination, ordered the man's immediate removal to Auckland to obtain the best attention, in order to save the sight of the eye. A son of Mr. Nelson, tailor, of Poena, fell on the roadway yesterday and inflicted a.deep wound on his forehead. The doctor found it necessary to insert six stitches to close the wound. . ,
