RIFLE MATCH.
The "A" Battery New Zealand Artillery fired a match for money prizes at Mount Eden Range on Saturday. Ten members competed, and these were divided into two classes-"A" and «B.» The conditions were:* "A" class, 7 shots at 300, 500 and 600 yards ; " B " class, 7 shots at 200, 300 and 500 yards. The wind was from the left rear and at times blew very strongly, especially at the 600-yards range. The following is the result, the three highest scorers in "A" class and two in "B" class being prize-winners:—" A Class : Gunner Gardner, 76 points ; Gunner Henderson, 74 points; Corporal Orr, 6S points; Gunner J. Campbell, 64 points ; Bombardier Short, 62 points; Captain O'Brien, 53 points. "B" Class: Gunner Urquhart, 73 points; Gunner Negus, 71 points; Bombardier Woods, 65 points; Gunner Browne, 60 points.
