WELLINGTON, this day. CABINET MEETING. Ministers Avere in Cabinet to-day on the Public Works Estimates, but it is not likely they Avill be brought doAvn until the Old Age Pensions Bill has been got out of the way. PROBABLE ADJOURNMENT. The opinion is growing stronger that Parliament will be adjourned over Christmas and sit again after the New Year holidays. OPPOSITION OPINIONS. Opposition quidnuncs predict that the Old Age Pensions Bill willoccupy the attention of the House lor fully another Aveek, and in the end will be emasculated or throAvn out by the Council. One or two Auckland members are knoAvn to be opposed to important features of the measure. The Opposition whips state the discussion on the Public Works Estimates will absorb another week.
