About £ 150 had been brought to Mrhowlds' shop. The balance was only insured for £100 in the New Zealand office. Messrs John Reid and Co. had on board a bale of goods for the Thames valued at £26. The bale Avas insured until landed this has been destroyed. Warnock Bros, had on board £350 worth of general merchandise. It is covered by insurance in the Standard Office. Messrs T. and S. Morrin, the local agents of the Rangatira, had a very heavy shipment valued at £5,000. So far as can be calculated to-day, they will only lose from £100 to £150. This is covered by a £500 policy in the NeAv Zealand office on all sheds in the Avharf and Avhieh has been in existence for the past six years Avhen Mr Femvick took over the management. Messrs Campbell and Ehrenfried had 150 cases of English ale on board valued at £500, Avhieh Avas lost. ' This is covered by a floating policy issued from the North German office. Mr J. The Tonson Garlick Company had 154 packages on the steamer, and out of this number 140 Avere delivered. Whether the goods Avere insured rests on an interpreta-. tion of a clause in the policy. In any case the Company's loss Avould be under £200. Macky, Logan, Steen and Co. had a big shipment on the steamer, valued at £5,000. All but about 25 cases Avere delivered. These are partly covered in the New Zealand office. The firm estimate their loss at £400 or £500. Rendell, draper, had on board £800 Avorth of goods, exclusive of duty. About six cases only are missing. It is thought these cases are covered by insurance in Lloyd's, but it depends upon an interpretation in a clause of the policy. .
