A concert was given by Miss L. Large s,nd Mr Maughan Barnett last evening. The former, who has just returned from Jftome, where she studied under the best |ioging masters, received an enthusiastic ij^lconie from a crowded house. / CHRISTCHUECH, this day. The Industrial Association resolved that Canterbury members be urged to obtain withdrawal or rejection of the Eight Hours !ind Masters and Apprentices Bills. ' The departmental inquiry into the disjnissal of ex-Detective Henderson lasted about five hours yesterday, and was adjourned to Monday. The Christchurch Diocesan Choral Association's thirteenth annual festival was held yesterday, when special services took place in the Cathedral. Seventeen choirs took part, representing 440 voices. In the afternoon about 420 persons attended a "light tea" in the Drill-shed. Bishop Julius presided.
