The second days racing of the Wellington Jockey Club is proceeding. The weather is dull, threatening and muggy and a very strong northerly wind is blowing across the course.
Petone Handicap of 70sovs. One mile.— Zanella, 1; Nightingale, 2; Australina, 3. Won by a short head. All started. Time, lmin 47sec. Dividend, £6 ss.
Hack Welter Handicap of 50sovs. One mile. — Stockade, 1; First Result, 2; Raupo 11., 3, Won by half a length. All started except Oracle and Off Chance. Time, lmin 49sec. Dividend, £3 Bs.
Pearce Handicap of 200sovs, one mile and a furlong.—Coeur de Lion, 1; Leda, 2; Target, 3. Won by a head. All started.
Hurdles. — Khino, 1; Pyrites, 2; Khoderick Dhu, 3. Won easily by four lengths. All started.
