A man who represented himself as confined in a castle in Spain for a political offence, and who claimed an Albury man as a relative of his wife, wrote stating that he was dying and wished the Australian to become custodian for his daughter und her fortune of £35,(M)0. H(J stated that he had only managed to write through the connivance of his father confessor. The latter subsequently wrote recording the death of the man, arid stating that before he could forward the document* dealing with the money, fees required to be paid, and asking him to send £123.
