CHPJSTCHURCK, tljis day.

A woman was arrested at Kaiapoi yesterday on a charge of being concerned in a robbery. Her husband, who was whitebaiting, was also arrested, but, taking advantage of an opportunity allowed him to pick up his coat, jumped into the Waimakariri River, swam to the opposite bank, and made his way across country. The police started in pursuit but their search for him so far has proved fruitless.
