THE EMPREZA.

The barque Empreza arrived from Newcastle early this morning with a cargo of coal. The captain, Mr J. Douglas, reports that the Empreza left Newcastle on the 24th of August with a light E.S.E. wind. Shortly after leaving a strong N.E. gale, which lasted to the Three Kings, was experienced. Cape Maria was passed on Fnday afternoon last, and westerly winds were met with till arriving at Cape Brett, which was passed at 4.15 on Saturday, thence to arrival light N.E. winds and smooth sea, the vessel berthing at the Railway Wharf at 2 a.m. to-day. For the first four days the Empreza sailed in company with the barquentine Handa Isle, which arrived at Kaipara this morning, but the vessels lost sight of each other on the fifth day out.
