Prices for dairy j cows were lower. Fat cattle equalled! Auckland prices. Calves were dvi: j ot sale. Two-year-old and old or j store cattle were better worth than at j the Auckland markets. On Tuesday, hides wero better worth. Ox hides were from o^d to sg-d ; cow hidee, 2|d to 3id ; calf skins, 2gd to 4d the 1b; taik, 1* 6d the dozen. Tallow, 11m to 14a tho cr;f. Skins lower in price, were from 2s to 5a 4d ; polts, 7cl to9d ; lamb skins, Is 3d to la 8d each. On Wednesday, a large number ot bays and dumps of wool were freely competed for. Fleece wool brought from 6d to 7il; pieces, | 3fjd to 5d ; locks, from 1-^d to 4d tho lb. At tho sale of land and allotments, the property of the As>sota Company, there was a numerous atteiadance, little speculative buying, but available lota for immediate use were freely competed for: above£ls,ooosoid. i At Retuuera, ou Thursday> few dairy cattle yarded ; thoso were dull of sale. Score cattle without alteration in value. Young and tat calves, in usual number, were at lower prices. Fab cattle in full number, 235 cold, scarcely kept last week's valuee ; prices ranged from 16s to 18.*, the greater parr, being from 17a to 17a 6d per IGOlb; prico3 for sroors were from £5 to £8 10s ; cows, £2 7s 6d to £6 10» each. Shoeu yarciod in full n urn bar, 1,300 sold; all kiliaole fully kept last week's values ; wethers brought from 7a 6d to 10« 3d ; owes, 63 to 8a each ; lambs plentiful, 681 pold, were better worth. Store lamb?, 3s 16d ; fab lambo, 4s 6d to 93, mostly from 631 Ito 8s each. Few pigs yarded ; store pigs lower in price, well fatted porkor3 at late values. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report.— Horse feed, seed, grain : Sufficient has boen brought forward, and a fair domnnd existed at tho previous week's values. Wo quote : Maize, on wharf 2s 6d to 2a 8d per bushel,, ex shorn 2a 9d to 3a ; oats, 2s 8d ; bran, £4 to £4 5s per ton. Dorsea havo boon in steady demand, and a good many wero brought forward, and disposed of at little or bo alteration in value. " Hides, skins, tallow, boaos : Rather largo quantities wore pitched at tho Durham Yards on Tuesday, for which there was brisk demand. We quote : — Extra stoub ex hides, 5d bo 6Ad ; scout, 3£d fo 4|d ; cow and eteer, 2£d bo 3Jd ,p calfskins, 56 to s|d ; bonoß, £3 per ton ; tallow, 11s 6d to 14a 9U cwt ; sheepskins, 3a 8d to 5a Id ; country, 2s lOd to 3a 6d ; lambskins, Is 2d to 2b 4d. Wool : A special sale was held on Thursday, whan a very long catalogue was geme through under most spirited competition, and there was a relativo advance in valuo as compared with the previous weok. Fleece in dumps sold at from 5%i to 6^d ; in bage, auroral lots reached tho higher figure. Locks and pieces, 3d to 3id. Cattle : The | supply has been an average one ; pricci for fat boasts were slightly in favour of the purchaser, bub dairy and store stock did Rob recede in price notwithstanding the dry weather. There waß baroly as many as usual yarded ab Newmarket on Tuesday ; competition was good up to le per IGOib decline on the previous week'a rates for both ox and cow beef. At Pukekohe on Wednesday the yards wero filled, and there was a good demand.
