Golden Horn.—The rfeef is a promising looking body of stone, 18 inches thick, and the "tone ?how? colours of gold. Heitmajt's Freehold. — Good sandstone country has been raet with at the low level Wavepj-ET.—The lcde bae made into a compact and good looking body of quartz, which can be taken out at a cost of not more than 4s per ton. The lode is about seven feeb wide, and, should it make gold, will prove a valuable ore body. Empire.—Since my last report the cro.'acut has been extended sft od the reef. The main drive ha? been extended Tfb for the | week, and the country has become ranch | harder, which I consider a good indication thafc we are approaching the reef. Morning Star. —Since last report I haTe continued operations on Cleaver's reef, and have extended the stope above the drive a considerable distance. The country is looking well though rather broken, and gives good indications of gold. At last breaking down nice prospects were obtained, and I expect within a few days to get on to the run of gold obtained in the d rive. Golden Point (Tapo).—No. 1 reef looks promising, containing abundance of ailica, whilst the mineral indications are also very promising. A start to rise on thi9 reef has been commenced, and a height of six feet has been attained, and that much of the reef broken down, which is pleasing to notice, shows gold. Jocelts.—The western reef maintains its size, is very broken, bub strongly mineralised. No. 2 reef is widening out, and looks very promising. Golconda —The drive on the leader i? in splendid country, but the lode is rather ' pinched. The manager intends to open out the other way. Ivanhoe. —Veins of quartz are meb in : the footwall and the lode appears to be 1 making south. An assay of a sample of quartz taken out for the last 12ft gave 7s : per ton. In the Shotover section the reef is sft in width and proved by assay worth 1 7s lOd per ton. Waiht PnryACl.ES.—The shaft is down 35 feet. Stringers continue to be met with in the abaft.
