POLLARD'S OPERA COMPANY
"PAUL JONES."
After an absence of abonb six months, Pollard'a Opera Company re-appeared at the Opera House lanb evening, and were welcomed by an almost crowded attendance. The season was opened with Planquebfce's favourite opera " Paul Jones," which was well staged, acted and sung, and compared favourably with former interpretations of the same opera in this city by the presenb Company. Miss Marion Mitchell waa exceptionally pood as Yvonne, both her acting and singing showing signs of improvement. Miss Maud Beabty performed admirably as Paul Joneß. Miss Metcalfe, whose singing is improving fast), made a good Rufino ; Mr Alf. Stephens did well in the part of Bouillabaissi; Mr W. Percy made a capital Don Trocadero, and Miss May Beabty was very successful as Chopinette; while all the other characters were creditably sustained. The sazie opera will be produced again this evening.
