Melbourne, September 7. — Sailed : Wakatipu, s.e.. for the Bluff. Syunes-, September 9.—Sailed : Waibora, 8.5., for Auckland. A Steamer Wrecked. Sydney, September 9.—The new steamer Chindera, 187 tons, went ashore in the Tweed River, New South W^e^and is breaking up. She was built in J895, and ia owned by Mr G. W. Nicoll, of Sydney. The Hawke's Bay. Sydney, September 9.—The s.e. Hawke's Bay, from London, lefb here to-day for Auckland. [She is doe at this port nexb Monday afternoon. Messrs Stone Bros, and Co. are the local agents.] Tbe Kaikonra. Wellington, September 9. — A large steamer, probably tbe Kaikoura, passed Cape Farewell ab 2.30 p.m. to-day. September 10.—The s.s.Kaikonra arriTed at 1 a.m. to-day. The ice she Dassed was daDgerous to navigation, one berg being 370 feeb high and a mile and a-half long. She brings 100 passengers, the following of whom ' are for Auckland : — Mesdames Griffin, Haddock, Keats, O'Connor, Messrs Latham, Ashworbh, Earl, Haddock, Evans, O'Connor. Woods, Hamilton, Masters Haddock (2) and 12 steerage. ■
