THE ANGLICAN HOME MISSION

The notice of the yearly collection in all tha Anglican Churches in aid of the Hope Mission Fund appears in our churchservica column to-day. The collections are to b8 made on Sunday, and the Standing Com* mittee appeal for generous support in the work. Tha work of the Home M lesion i» to provide ministrations of clergymen in all the districts of the diocese which-are not; included in the charge of a resident minister. There are seventy sucli places now, and they are ministered to by the Diocesan Missionary, Canon Haselden, and occasionally by other clergy man. During tho last year 222 service) were held, and 97 celebrations ef the Holy Communion, and 108 childrtn were baptised. Tha congregations which hay« churches, clergy, organists, choirs, and what may be called the luxuries ot worshipi are asked to help their brethren in the bnsn settlements by assisting to provide t"a necessities of religion, and to show their appreciation of the labours of the Hon)« Mission clergy. The fund naeda genarooa help ab this time, and we hope iD will «"■ ceive it. Donations are invitad and can be paid to the Treasurer, Mr W. S. Cochrane, Diocesan Office, Auckland, or to tn« Rev. Canon Haselden, the Diocesan Missionary, or to the Rev. Canon Gould, who has been specially appointed by the Prim»w to look after the interests of the Ho»8 Mission.
