Oriknt.—We have extended the drive a totai distance of 80 feob since we commenced operation^, Tho country is ail that cou^d be desired for making good heudway, being of a splendid sandstone similar 6o that from which all the best rune of gald have been got in the Ohinemuri district. Gold can be obtained^ by washing the rubble in the dish. When trenchiug in the main spur this week, we unearthed a leader of about one foot in thickness, carrying a littie gold. The crosscut has been extended a distance of fourteen feet through a very good clbbs of country.
