NEW ZEALAND NATIVES' ASSOCIATION.
This Association, which is composed of persons who have been born in the colony, now numbers about 200 members, and ia Gradually gaining accession to its membership. As ib has now been established on a good footing, it is proposed to hold a picnic to-morrow at Motutapu, and in order to provide for the larsra number of members and friends who intend to take part in the celebration, two of the Devon port Ferry Company's steamers have been engaged. The firsb will leave at 10 a.m., and tho other at 2 p.m., returning at 7 p.m. An attractive programme haa been aranged, comprising an open handicap 150 yards, for which 12 entries have been received. The Newmarket Band has been engaged, and Baesett's Fife and Drum Band have volunteered their services. The arrangements are under the care of a competent committee, with Mr T. Henderson a8 President. The gathering will nob be confined solely to members, as tho opportunity is afforded the general public of participating in what promises to be an enjoyable day's outing.
