■ Shanghai^ August 9. Mabel Hartford, an American missionary* states thab the mob at Kucheng attacked the mission Btation at seven in bhe morning. She, herself, was nearly speared, butgoo off with a severe beating. Topsy Saunders escaped to Dr. Stewart's house, bub was killed outside. Mißs Gordon's head was almost severed from the body. ~',.. '■- London, Augusb 9. The Chinese Minisber and the British Cabinet are consulting with regard to the Christian massacre in Kucheng.
