FIRE IN CHRISTCHURCH.

Christchukch, thia day. At one o'clock this morning a fire in South Beit destroyed a nine-roomed houße, owned and occupied by Mrs Elizabeth Bailey, and a small cottage adjoining, owned by Mr Jones, of Timaru, and occupied by D. Howard. No effects were saved. Bailey's house was insured for £'250 in the Standard, and tho furniture for £200 in the Liverpool, London and Globe. Jones's house waa insured for £75 in the South British.
