PUKEKOHE.
Otrß local School Committee decided on Saturday evening to support Mr J. H. Wright's candidature for a seat on tho Board of Education. The members of the Tuakau Band of Hope paid a visit bo the Pukekohe Band of Hopo on Monday evening, and provided bbc programme on bhab occasion. The following ladies and genblemen book part : i—Mrs Braibhwaite, Misses Cleghorn, M. Walkei, French, Young, M. Madill and Elliott, Messrs Oldham, G. Elliott, J. E. McDormotb, Warren,"''Jas. Gilmour and Rogers. Mr Jones occupied the chair. A cordial vote of thanks was given to the Tuakau friends for their services. Ab bhe close of the meebing bhe visitors partook of a lighb refreshmenb provided by bhe Pukekohe Commibbee. Ib would be well if bhese interchanges of programmes were more common between the country Band of Hope Societies, giving greater variety and therefore making the meetings more attractive. —(Own correspondent.)
