CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR SOCIETY.
The second annual convention of the Auckland Provincial Christian Endeavour Union commenced to-day. This morning a united devotional meeting was held in Wesley Hall in Pitb-abreet. Ab three o'clock in the afternoon, the opening services of the Convention were held in Wesley Hall, when the Presidenb the Rev. J. Blaikie, delivered an address of welcome. A conference of members followed, on bhe subject of the Unions' pledge, as bearing on " private devotion " and "active service." A paper was read by Miss Hudson (Thames) on ''Private Devotion," and the Rev. R. Ferguson also read a paper on •' Acbive Service." The business work of bhe Convenbion was bhen. proceeded with, bhe speeches of members beins* limited bo three minutes each.. The Convention waa well attended by representatives of the various Christian Endeavour Societies in Auckland and surrounding districts. This eveniug a tea-meeting and united consecration meeting in connection with the convention will bo held in the Baptist Tabernacle. Reports will be read, and bhe. retiring President, Mr Blaikie, will deliver an address, and inbroduce the new Preeident, bhe Rev. G. B. Monro.
