TO-MORROW'S RACES AT THE NORTH SHORE.
Judging by the splendid acceptance* received last night for the second day's racing of the Takapuna Jockey Club Winter Meeting, a first-class day's sport is in store for those of Her Majesty's subjects who intend celebrating her 75th birthday at the North Shore racecourse. Lord Glasgow and party hare signified their intention of being present after the levee.
The iireb event starts at 12 noon sharp, and through tickets will be issued nt one shilling. The Mack Handicap opens tha programme. There may be a 'dark one' among the 14 acceptors, bub I shall name St. Patrick to win. The Hurdle ftace will probably go to Belmonb; after whom I like Marechal Neil. Folly reads a likely winner of the Birthday Handicap, and St. Kilda should prove her most dangerous opponent. In the Victoria Handicap Dorothy must bo hard to beat, and Stamford or Acacia ma/ provide tho winner of the Welter Handicap. The Steeplechase promises to provide another good contest. Cingalee can stay well, and if he gets over the tho country muse be hard to beat. My straight out selection is Belle, after whom I like Fishmonger and Potentate.
