ROAD BOARD MEETINGS.

MOUNT ALBERT.

The annual meeting of ratepayers in the Mount Alberb districb was held in bhe public hall on Friday nigbb, bhe Chairman of bbc Board, Mr James, presiding. The Secretary read a reporb of bhe work done during tbe past year, and the Chairman explained thab owing to a mistake of pasb Boards an excess of subsidy had been obtained from bhe Governmenb. The resulb was bhab insbead of receiving £180 subsidy this year, it was possible thab pome £30 mighb be claimed from bhe Beard. Special stress was laid upon bhe good work done ab tbe railway crossing, which, although iblnvolvedconsiderableexpenditure, bo bhe debrimenb of obher parbe of bhe district, was a sadly-needed alteration. Ib was also shown bbab the Board bad saved £80 or £100 per annum by appointing a foreman of works to look after the roads instead of keeping two men aa heretofore. Messrs James, Harbutt, aud Walker explained matters to tbe meeting, and ultimately the reporb was adopted, Huhjeob bo confirmation by bhe auditor. Mr Barker was declared duly elected as a member of the Board, bub one vacancy sbill remains owing bo bhe obher nomination being invalid. Some of the ratepayers presenb complained ab £10 being expended on a fresh election.

ONE TREE HILL.

The annual meeting of ratepayers in the One Tree Hill Road Board district was held ab Epsom on Saburday nighb. There was only a small attendance, and Mr K. Hall presided. The balance-sheet for the year, which waeadopted, showed that the receipts for the year ended March 31sb lasb were £1,003 0s lid, and bhab there was a balance of £269 5s 6d in hand. The asaebsamounted bo £330 7s Id, of which £61 Is 7d represenbed rotes in arrears. The total liabilities were estimated at £32 15s 7d.

REMUERA.

Mr J. M. Lennox presided at tbe annual mooting of ratepayers of the Remuera highway districb on Saburday nighb. There were nob many presenb. Mr W. Dinnison submitted bhe reporb and balancesheet, which showed the receipbs for bhe year amounted to £1.374 3a and the expenditure £1.326 6s 4d, leavine c. credit balance of £47 16s Bd. Mr J. M. Lennox was re-elected Chairman for bhe onsuing year.

PUKEATUA

An election was held on Friday in the Dairy Flab Schoolroom, when three members were elected to fill the vacancy on the Pukeatu Road Board. Messrs F. Poynton, 23 jM. Lennan, 22: and E. Bond, 19 ; were elected. Messrs E. A. Frost, T. Foley and C. Jeffs were the other candidates.

AVONDALE.

The following is bhe resulb of tbe election at Avondale On Saturday for three members of the Road Board :—Harvey William Batkin, 66; Isaac Wymer, 65"; James Malcolm, 4*B; Samuel Cox, 45; John Lake, 45; Peter Robertson, 21; and William Patterson, 8. The first three were declared duly elected.'
