PROHIBITION IN CANADA.
(To the Editor,) Sir, —I have just received per 'Frisco mail full particulars re the recont plebiscite on prohibition in Ontario, and believing that many of your readers are deeply interested in the question, I ask the favour of space to state briefly some of the facts disclosed by the vote. 1. The total poll was 58 per cent, of those eligible to vote. 2. The total majority for prohibition was 81,730. 3. With one exception (Windsor) every city voted prohibition ; and the proportion of the vote in cities was 2 to 1 in favour of prohibition. • 4. Out' of the 38 counties, 36 voted for prohibition ; the total vote in the whole of the counties being, for prohibition 154,009, against 83,846. 5. The women's vote in the whole province was in favour of prohibib'on by 6 to I,—l am, etc.', H, Field.
