Hamilton, this day. The ordinary monthly and annual meebing of bhe Waikato County Council was held yesterday. Mr Primrose was re-elected Chairman unanimously. Messrs Primrose, Seddon, Clark and Bailey were elected members of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. The Council let a contract to Mclnnes, of Maramarua, for £75, for a road, without calling for fresh tenders, the previous tenders being too high. The Clerk was instructed to call for tenders for £100 worth of works on tho VVairangi Road. Re closed road ab Huntly—The Governmenb had issued a certificate title to the Taupiri Extended Coal Company for closed road, but tbe Council, the clerk said, had nob closed bhe road. Ib was resolved bo communicate with with the Survey Offico on tho matter. A pebibion was presented from the ratepayers of Huntly to form a road districb. Ib was oppo _ed by bhe Clerk and Chairman. Tbe Clerk Baid that a lot of routine business and expenses would be attached to tho carrying oub of the wishes of tho pebibionors, and finally, on the motion of the Chairman, ib was resolved to defer consideration of the matter for a month. Mr Moren, lwho presented the petibion, said thab bwo lebbers which accompanied it should have been read. The Chairman said thab the letters would be produced when discussion came on again. Councillor Bailey said bhat an impression existed bhat bhe Council did nob attend to the wants of Huntly, which was one of tho largest townships in the Waikabo.—Tho general fund account is overdrawn £07.
