Mr James Muir gave an address to over 150 ladies and gentlemen yesterday afternoon in the Public Hall, Onehunga, Mrs Bull in the chair. Mr Muir's address was frequently applauded, as was also his statement that he would go to the poll. Having put. hi 3 hands to the plough he said he would see the finish. A vote of thanks and confidence was proposed by Mrs Miller and seconded by Mine Peglar. A vote of thanks only was proposed by Mrs Yates. The original motion was carried wibh cheers for the candidate. Mr W. F. Buckland addressed the \ electors last evening in the Public Hall, Onehunga, Mr J. D. Jackson in the chair. A vote of thanks was passed with cheers, to the candidate, Mr Buckland decling a vote of confidence as absurd. Mr Muir addressed a mooting of Manukau electors in the Free Methodist Schoolroom, Mount Eden, last evening. Ab the conclusion of his speech Mr Muir was awarded a vote of thanks and confidence. PARNELL. Mr F. Lawry addressed the lady electors of Parnell in the Parnell Public Hall yesterday afternoon, when about GO ladies were present, and tho candidate was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and conti. fence. Last evening Mr Lawry addressed a very largo public meeting in Waite's Hall, Mount Eden. Mr Lawry was received with loud applause, which was repeated at frequent intervals during the delivery of an address lasting nearly two hours. His defence of the Governmenb againsb the charge of partizan appointments was well received, and hia demonstration that the free trade party in the House at the time did their utmost to kill tho Atkinson finance called forth enthusiastic applause. He read the division lisb on the crucial question, which proved that Atkinson's follower., voted against the Bill, and that Ballanca's party by their votes saved the measure upon which Atkinson based his whole finance and which gave him the money to meeb his engagements. A unanimous vote of thanks • and confidence in Mr Lawry waS*passed amidst loud and repeated cheering. It will be seen by advertisement that Mr Lawry'e central committee meeb in the Nowmarkeb Hall this evening at 7.80. Mr Lawry will address the lady electors in Maslctb Hall bo-morrow (Friday) afternoon ab 3 p.m., and the general electors at the sani9 place tomorrow evening ab 8 p.m. EDEN. Mr E. Mitchelson meb the electors of Eden in bho Morningside Schoolroom last evening, Mr W. If, Martin in the chair. There was a good attendance, including many ladies. The candidate gave a resume of his previous addresses, and at the close a vote of thanks and confidence was accorded him. Mr Niccol addressed a crowded meeting of electors ab Henderson last nighb in the public school, and received a vote of thanks and confidence, tho meeting breaking up with three cheers for the candidate. Mr Niccol speaks at Devonport to-morrow evening.
