THE LATE MR R.J. CREIGHTON.
Regarding tho lato sudden death of Mr K. J. Ureighton, at San Franci3co, as recently announced by cable, a press despatch from Sa'ta Francisco, by the j R.f.1.3. Monowaij says :— | Robert J. Creighton, private secretary of IJ. .0, Speckels, and well-known in tho city, was stricken with paralysis on Mon- ! day morniug, May 22nd, in Sun Francisco, ; and died during tho afternoon. He had j been eujoyinj; the best of health, and rej ceivod no warning of the terrible affliction i that cavised his death. Deceased was 58 years of age, and was born in Londonderry, j Ireland. For tho past fifteen years Ihe has resided in San Francisco excepting a brief period when he held tho position of Foreign Minister in the Hawaiian Government, lie was at one time editor of tho " Ban Francisco Tost," and has been a liberal contributor to tho local press of that city, Prior to his experiences in California he was engaged in journalistic work in New Zealand, of which country ho was a resident representative in San Francisco. Mr Creighton was a member of tho Scotch-Irish Society, the. presidency of which he recently resigned, Ho loaves a widow and two,children."
