(Before His Honor Mr Justice Conolly.) Law Practitioners' Act, ISB2. —Mr Mahony, on behalf of the Auckland Law Society, moved a motion to adjudge Chas. Edward Madden, solicitor, guilty of contempt of Court. Mr Mahoney said The Law Society ha-d no desire to press for the previous penalty,, but they wished Mr Madden to pay his fees. Mr Madden said thab his earnings had been very small, and hardly enough i tij maintain liis wife and tamly, He a'aked that he might be . allowed to pay. — His Honor said that would put Mr Madden on the same footing as Mr Matthews last week. — His Honor therefore, adjudged Mr Madden guilty of contempt of Court, and ordered bim to pay the fees due and coots of application by 9th of January next, and failing such paymeDtß, to be fined £25. . W-U.ing.on Law Society.—Mr Theo. Cooper, acting for tho Wellington Law Society, mentioned that there was a motion on the paper for rule nisi to strike a solicitor oft the rolls. It was an ex parte appli cation. Mr Cooper said ihat he had consented to allow the motion to stand over till the Ist February, which His Honor agreed to.
