DEATH OF A CYCLIST.
Mr George M. Kingston, a well-known cyclist, died at the Melbourne Hospital on December 2. Tho deceosed, a promising youug man of 34 years of age, was, says the Melbourne " Herald," a champion bicyclist in Auckland and Dunedin, New Zealand. He came to Victoria a short time back to take part in the recent bicycle sports, and alsoinothers which are to take place shortly. He resided in llathdown-strect,..... •:■&.-' nd on the evening of the 27th ultimo, i.boutj 7 o'clock, left his residence on his bicycle for a short training spin. He had not-pro-ceeded far along Rathdownrstreet when a large dog ran against his bicycle, causing ib to upset. The deceased was thrown violently to the ground, and was picked up insensible. He was taken to tho Melbourne Hospital, where it was found that he had sustained concussion of the brain, fracture of the ekull and general shock.. Ha lingered until this morning, when he died as above stated. The deceased was a plumber by trade, and much liked by those who knew him.
