A leading member of the Queensland Separation League declares that he has been assured on good authority that ther. is not the slightest prospect of the Marquis of Ripon, Secretary of State for the Colonies, granting the separation of the colony until the Imperial Parliament has again discussed the question, and that it is very unlikely that the Cabinet will entertain the idea next session.
