COROMANDEL NOTES.

Coromandel, this day. Hugh McDonald has found rich surface specimens below the old Success mine. The Royal Oak tributers are crushing 1 ton of general stuff, and expect a return of 40 ounces.
A number of applications for ground at Materangi were made yostorday. McNeill, the prospector, is having a trial crushing at ihe Thames.
Dugald Bryce found some rich specimens ab fVlahikarau, and applied yesterday for a prospector's area. The inspector will visit the locality on Friday to decide on tha merits of the case, as Moikle also applies for part of the ground.
Yesterday, the warden, though much in disposed, got through a heavy day's busi ne?s.
