CORRESPONDENCE.
IRREVERENCE IN OUR CHURCHES.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —VVill you kindly insert this letter for me ? It may catch the eye of a few who will think. I notice, with much regret, the lack of reverence and delicate feeling among many of the young church-goers of Auckland. I don't remember, in the many churches I have visited round aboub the colonies, to have seen so many of bhe young men and women leave tho church during the course of the sermon, and they are mostly " birds of fine feather," and flutter their plumage a great deal too much, and disturb the few who havo come to " God's house " with more reverent hearts. Never have I felt so pained as I was last Sunday evening in a certain place of worship in this city, when I saw a number of young men and girls shuffling oub of church in twos and threes, while an able and good preacher spoke of a greab poeb who now lies ab resb in Westminster Abbey,—l am, etc., F. Irving Hill.
