WHARF EXTENSION.

Invercargill, this day* ~ The Bluff Harbour Board to-day resolvec| to build on the further extension of tha . wharf one hundred and sixty feet, and to obtain plans and specifications for a slipway suibable bo the requirements of the harbour. In the course of the discussion, some mem' bers advocated the construction of a dock, but the majority considered bhe expense toa , heavy in bhe meantime. Mr J. G. Ward mentioned that the revenue of the Board was £15,000 per annum, and the total expenditure, including interest on loan, £ 6000* leaving £9,oooannually availablefor harbour improvements.
