REV. G. C. GRUBB'S MISSION.

To-day the Rev. G. C. Grubb, evangelist, commenced his day religious services in Auckland. This morning he held a prayer meeting in tho V.M.C.A. Booms, which was fairly attended. This afternoon from 12.30 to 1.30 he held half-hour meetings for " business men " in tie City Hall. The business men of Auckland did not largely show up, there being present only about 50 representative men, and these were mostly those who take an interest in religious work in the city. Mr Grubb gave out a stirring hymn, sitting down at the harmonium, and led the singing. After a short prayer and another hymn he announced his text, *' AH live sinned, and come short: of tie glory of God." He said this was what God said, and, no matter what man thought, it muse be true. If a man presented himself as a recruit for Her Majesty's regiment of guards he must! como up to a certain standard, and although he may be only one - eighth of an inch short, he is rejected. So (he said) it is in spiritual matters. Mr Grubb's address was a forcible setting forth of the duty of every man to have " his peace made perfect." Mr Grubb also hold a Bible exposition in the City Hall at 3 o'clock this afternoon. A children's service was held at 4 o'clock in the V.M.C.A. Rooms by Mr C. Millard.
