Wellington, this day. The Ac!ing-Governor, accompanied by the Premier, and Messrs Reeves and Buckley, paid a visit to H.M.s. Tauranga this morning and the ship cleared for action, the operation taking about twenty tninutee. Fired salute as Prendergast left.

The following benders have been received by tho Board of Education :—For erection of teachers' house at Karangahake.C. Long (accepted), £229 6s; Daviea and Evans, £254; Jas. Furey, £256 ; W. and A. Hews-on, £260; J. M. Somervell, £265 ; W. G. Smith. £278 ; P. Manning, £299. For teacher's house at Waihi : C. Long, £249 10a (nccepted) ; J. Furey, £268 10s : J. M. Somervell, £255 ; Davies and Evane, £237; P. Mannix, £309 ; W. <t. Smith, £309 ; Heron Bros., £522 17s; Robert Sinims, £348 143. For teacher's house at Tauranga : John Mannix, £310 (accepted); R. Ca*hmore, £337 ; Alex Watson, £360; J. M. Somervell, £365 ; E. J. Robinson, £371 ; J. C, Adame, £400.

Several small subscriptions received have completed the amount required for the purchase of a boat for tho Rev. Dr. Lamb, medical missionary, and the £40 was remitted by the Ladies' Xew Hebrides Association to Wellington by telegram yesterday. Dr. Lamb arrives in Wellington tomorrow, per Wakatipu, in route for Sydney, and will arrange for the purchase of the boat in Sydney himeolf, upon plans which have been found effective for the work of the mission.
