Local fruits : Plums to hand in very large quantities, for which the demand was unlimited ; cherry plums, 4d to 6gd, average 5d ; Rivera early, 4id to 6-id, average 5Jd; cherries, unsatfsfied demand, all lots in poor condition, values varied from 4d to 6£d per lb ; damaged, to 3Ad ; peache3, largest lots sold at from Is 2d to Is 9d per dozen ; medium size, IOJd to Is; others, 5d to 9d and 3d to s|d per lb; apricots, 6d to IOJd per lb; apples, Irish peach, Jd to ; other large cooking, l£d to Ifd ; red Astrachan, extra fine coloured, 3£d to 4f d ; medium, 2d to 2jd; motbed, etc., Id to Ud; pears, Jargonells, 3jd to 5d ; other choice dessert, 3d to 6d, according to size and condition; small, IJd to 2d ; lemons, Is 8d to 2a 5d per dozen ; oranges, local, Is 9d per dozen or equal to 35s per case ; Sydney, 12s to 18s per case ; tomatoes, 4gd to 6d : grapes, over £50 worth quitted at Is 9d to 2s por lb. Pigs : Only a fow to hand, which brought from 5s to 14s each, according to size and breeding. In farm produce demand has been quiet, but an improvement might be looked for next week. Shepherd's potatoes have brought 10d to 2s ; kidneys, 2s to 3a 8d ; Hobarcs, 2s 6(1 to 3a 3d ; maize dull, at 2s 2d to 2s 3d ; bran and sharps, £4 10s ; wheat, none; garlic, totally unsaleable ; onions, in strong demand ; potatoes, id to 2d ; saed kinds, Id to ; peas, 6d to lid per peck ; rhubarb, 2s to 3a 6d. Butter : Fresh i? so scarce that several grocera have been compelled to retail salt butter during the week. That to hand realised from bd to Is ; kog butter averages 6d, if prime nnd well pub up in good kegs. Eays: The market for this lino is in a bad atato, owing to most lots bein<£ faulty. Fully 1,000 dozen of doubtful and pickled eggs have come forward this week ; "new-laid and guaranteed realised from Is to Iβ 3d, while others wore quitted with difficulty at 4d to Bd. Cheese has moved freely at 2kl to 4d. Bacon remarkably dull of sale ; compulsory sales effected at 2d to sd, and one line at l£d. Haras: Guaranteed, 8d; others, 3d Ito6d ; Canterbury, to9d. Kauri guru : A parcel of 3 tons (dark) sold. MESSRS ESAM AND ARTHUR'S WEEKLY Report. —Since our last issue the quantity of produce, poultry, and fruit quitted has bean very large, and whilst supplies have beon so heavy tho demand has been strong, every sale largely attended with brisk competition. Yesterday's sale of fruit was augmented by a shipment of 451 cases of Sydney assorted, which, arriving in good condition, commanded high prices. First - class oranges, 15s 6d per case ; second crop, 6s 9d to 10s 9d ; plums, 6s to 6s 9d ; apricots, 9s 7d ; comquats, 4s Id ; tomatoes, 3s Gd to 4s 9d; pears, 63; lemons, 8s 2d. Local fruit in very large quantities realised as follows :—Gooseberries, Id to 2d per lb, average, 1 5-Bths d; plums, 4d to 6d ; peaches, 8d to lid ; apples : eating, ljd to i&d ; cooking, id to ; hot-house grapes, Is 6d to Is 9d ; pears, to 3£d; cherries, 5Jd to s£d ; lemons, Is 6d to 2s por In poultry prices wore also good.
