The followingwas the result of the race for the Middle Park Plate :—Duke of Westminster's Ortne, 1; El Diable, 2 ; Garleb, 3.
[Ortne is considered to be one of the beet colts in England, and a very big amount was offered and refused for him after he ■won the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood, beating a number of good two-year-olds. Ha is a eon of the crack of his time, Ormonde, and Angelica, by Gallopin (srrandson of Voltigeur and The Flyine Dutchman) from Sfc. Angela, by King Tom. Subsequent to Orme's Richmond Stakes victory negotiations were opened up with the view of purchasing Ormonde from his owner, who ia resident in■'■ the Argentine Republic, and as much as £20,000 was offered.] HEAVY WAGERING. The betting on the Czare witch was heavy. J,. Thomson's (the Leviathan) book was £100,000.
