FIRE AT CHRISTCHURCH.

Christchurch, this day. A FiiiK broke out early this morning in a workshop near Mr H. R. Webb's house at St. Albans. The brigade turned out, but when the engine reached the North Belt stopped, and drew the fires. The chemical engines went on, but could not cope with the fire, which spread to the house containing twenty rooms. The engines were then ordered to proceed, but an hour's delay took place and the result wa.« destruction of the workshops, fitting, and all the rooms at the back of the house. . The damage is estimated at £500. The house is insured for £1,250 in the Union Office and the furnituie for £700 in the Liverpool, London and Globe.
