Inwards Coastwise. — Scotchman, auxiliary screw ketch, Bewicke, from Whangarei, with 40 tons iron ore and 28 telegraph posts. The Government steamer Hinemoa is in the Manukau. The s.s. Rotomahana arrived at Sydney yesterday from Auckland. The schooner Gisborne is up on the Cus-toms-street slip for an overhaul. H.M.s. Curacoa arrived here from Lyttelton at 1 p.m. today, en route to Sydney. Messrs Fraser and Sons are completing a new boiler for the Thames steamer Rotomahana. The R.M.s. Alameda is due here on Thursday next from San Francisco via Honolulu and Tutuila. The yachts Ngaira (Dr. Haines's) and Arawa have been hauled up ab the North Shore for the winter. The R.M.s. Monowai arrives here on Friday next from Sydney, and leaves for San Francisco on Saturday. The brigantine Seabird goes into dock for an overhaul. She was towed down from the Sugarworks to-day. The barque Presto, at tbe Harbour Board Breastwork, is undergoing various repairs, and is shipping a new mizzen mast. The new Tyser steamer Hawke's Bay left Rockhampton (Q.) yesterday for New Zealand, to load frozen meat for London. Mr Niccol's new schooner at North Shore is progressing well towards completion, and will shortly be ready for launching. Captain J. Skinner's new schooner Awanui should ba down here from Whangaroa about the end of this week or the beginning of next. Mr C. Bailey, shipbuilder, has now fairly started on his new light draught 60-ton steamer for the Thames River trade for Brown, Batretb and Co. The Auckland portion of cargo from Glasgow at Dunedin per Shnw-Savill ship Crusader arrived here this morning by the s.s, Talune, from the South. Capb. Bungurd (well-known hero)'has been succeeded in the command of the New Zealand Shipping Company's ship Wairoa, now on her way to Dunedin, by Captain Spsx, who brought oub the tug Lyttelton.

The new sqow lately launched by Mr C. Bailey, to the order of Jagsrer and Parker, is completing her rigging and fitting out ab the Hobson-streeb Wharf, and will start in her coastal timber work shortly. Mr W. Holmes, shipbuilder, North Shore, has made a good start on bia now 80-ton river steamer to the order of tho Northern Steamship Company for the Thames trade, and expects to havo her in the .water by tbe contract time, September Ist. Tho EastCoasb trading schooner Waiapu, 66 tons, Captain J. Nicolas, arrived in port yesterday from bar usual trip down to Gisborne and back via coastal, ports, bringing a cargo of general produce. She left Gisborne on the 2nd inst., and called in ab Waihora, Tolago Bay, Tokomaru, Waipiro, Awanui, Kawakawa, Hicka' Bay, and Raukokere, and loft tho last place on Friday.
