THE S.S. TALUNE.
At 10.30 a.m. to-day the U.S.S. Company's newly-acquired stoeLsteamerTalune, 1,284 tons net register and 2.000 tons gross, arrived in port from Dunedin via East Coast way ports with passengors and cargo, and berthed at; the Queen-ab. Wharf. Capt.Chatfield is temporarily in charge, and with him as chief officer is Mr W. T. Wilson ; second, Mr J. Hannan ; chief engineer, Mr Doolan. Mr Harry Taylor iB purser. The Taluno, which formerly belonged to tho T.S.N. Company, of Hobart, is a fine roomy vessel, being very fast and a capital sea-boat. The purser reports that she left Port Chalmers on the 10th inst., called at Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier and Gisborne, and left tho last port for Auckland at 11.30 a.m. yesterday, making the run up in 23 hours. She will leave for the North to-nighfc to fetch down tho s.s. Pukaki from Russoll for repairs.
