MR BRYCE AS A POLITICAL LEADER.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, — Having heard the sound of the mighty trumpeters of Mr John Bryco, ono would have thought lie was one of thoso men that would board the lion in his don in any part of the universe Now he is posing before the people as their only loader, having chosen to go into one of the outlying districts amongst a few scattered Bottlers instead of coming before tho masses and teaching them that which is good. W'lmtover other people's opinions may be of him, my own ie that as o politician he ie a coward. Ho hue now proclaimed to tho world that our vuterau statoaman, Sir O. (iroy, who is now about to quit this scene of strife, had given tho land in large blocks to private individuals, while official documents prove such assertions utterly untrue. Now as his (Mr Bryce's) reputation is public property, ibis essential he should defend it, and as he has aspired to lead the people ifc is his duty to come before them and prove to thorn tiiat which is good.—l am, etc., J. A. Gami-uell. Jervois Road.
