FAST PASSAGES.

The well-known Abordeon clipper ship Miltiades, now at Sydney, lutely occasioned some correspondence in the Homo papers regarding fast' paseages between New Zealand and England. A writer says : " The Drumcraig is not going lo be allowed to run off with the blue ribbon of the New Zealand voyage, as the following letters -< -will show :—' The statement that fcho Drumcraig's passage of 78 clays from LytI' ' telton, New Zealand, is the fastest 011 record, is not quite correct, as the Talavora, Captain Robson, sailed from Lyttolton on !; 3lßt May this year and passed Prawle Point on the loth August, making a passago of >74 Prawle is quite one day better than Quecnstown.' . ' The Cabbie Holme, belonging to Messrs Hioe Brothers, of Jflaryport, sailed from Lyttelton on 16th

June, 1881, passed the Lizard on 31st August, and arrived at Falmouth on Isb September, making the passage from Lyttelton to port of call in 77 days, thus beating the Drumcraijf's passage by op.o day. The Miltiades sailed from Lyttelton on the Bth of February, 1890, and arrived ac Pcnzance on April 24th, making the run in 75 days.' "
