THE MARITIME STRIKE.
THINGS QUIET TO-DAY.
THE AUCKLAND CARTERS.
CORRESPONDENCE WITH THE
MAYOR.
There is no fresh development of the Maritime strike to reporb to-day in thii port. Things are very quiet, and in the absence of any Union Steamship Company's steamers from the harbour there is nothing doing in the way of working cargo by non-Unionist labour. The s.s. Kahu, from Napier, to arrive to-mor-row, will probably work cargo with Union labour. The Union Company's s.s. Rosamond left Brisbane ye?terday for Auckland direcb with a cargo of 870 tons Queensland coal. On discharging here she is to take up the Company's usual Fiji trip in place of the s.s. Arawata. The members of the Auckland Carters Union hold a meeting this afternoon ab three o'clock in the Metropolitan Club, Rutland-street, in order to consider the question of returning to work forthwith.
