LYTTELTON.
ARREST OF A LUMPER.
William Thomas Barnes, a Unionist lumper, was arrested at Lytbtelton last evening on a charge of assaulting a nonUnionist labourer named Walker, at Wilson's Road, on Monday night. Special constables were sworn in yesterday afternoon.
The sailing ships are working their cargoes with non-Union labour.
The freezing works at Islington are to be closed on Friday.
The Charitable Aid Board intend to give a month's notice to the Orphanage staff.
