The ordinary meeting of the Newtoll Borough Council was held last night, when there were present: Messrs Ambdry (Mayor), Webley, Brown, Faulder, Donald, Porter, RiggSj and Coxi The general accounts were submitted, showing receipts £1,461 2s 2d, and expenditure £1,353 lis 3d, wibh a credit balance on March 30th of £107 10s lld. The Secretary of the Gas Company wrote forwarding Copy of proposed Bill to amend th§ Auckland Gas Company's Act. The Council resolved to ask for copy of the Act. With regard to the Municipal Corporations Act amendments, the Council decided to Support application of Christchurch Council to repeal part Of section J569 of the. Act. This section prevents municipalities from erecting gasworks •where they already exist. The Council resolved to take steps to recover from the Arch Hill Road Board the amounb due On account of repairs to the Great North Koad.
